Taoyuan Guanghua Keng area is located in Guishan District, Taoyuan City. It is a off-road route that is close to the urban area. This line can connect to Zhongkeng, Fengshukeng and other small branches. The dense forest trees and narrow roads are prone to get lost inside if no veterans guide you the directions. The diverse terrain and lots of shades make it the best choice of many bicycle and off-road motorcycles to go fast and wild on holidays.
Guanghua Keng area has a number of routes that riders can challenge different levels of difficulties. In order to prevent riders from getting lost, the organizer has specially planned five routes. There are uphill and downhill routes that are slightly difficult for beginners, and those that are suitable for both adults and children. Of course if you don't wanna ride, there are also mini games at the booth, which will definitely make you have fun, and get some goodies.
There are morning and afternoon sessions in this event, and the content of these activities are mostly the same, so riders can choose their own suitable sessions. Before the start of this event, the organizer will briefly introduce the sponsors, the difficulties of each route, basic knowledge of mountain bikes, and the rules for rental bikes.
The best thing about LAVA XC event must be you don't even need to bring your bike, and you don't need to wash any bike. You can rent various high-end models, which is also kind of rental experience before buying a new one. This service is something bike shops can't give. The muddy road conditions on that day also made every rider enjoy the “F1 pit” services. In order to allow riders to get a test car quickly, bikes are returned to the booth, and the staff immediately roll up their sleeves, remove all the dirt from the bike with bare hands.
But the road conditions are not always so muddy like this time. It rained in the morning and the sun came out in the afternoon; that caused the soil to gradually become dry and thick and sticky. The tires are not be able to quickly get rid of the mud, and it got stuck in the tires. Walking also makes our shoes full of dirt, although it will be difficult to walk, but that’s an off-road experience. You can also see everyone playing mud battles.
If you're new rider and have never tried a mountain bike at all, don't worry! The organizer specially arranged two professional instructors, Ian and Thomsa. They will patrol each track and teach how to overcome obstacles and riding techniques. At the same time, Ian is also a Youtuber. He shares a lot of mountain bike knowledge videos and fun trails all over Taiwan. If you are interested, you can also watch and learn!
There is only one high-technique level track in this event. Others are mostly rider-friendly. You will encounter small ups and downs, small jumps or tree root obstacles. And most people will experience fun-line: the organizer uses branches, balloons, and wooden boards to make small obstacles, making riders practice turning and crossing obstacles in a safe surroundings.
